"要　旨\n　目的：遷延性意識障害（Persistent Vegetative State、以下「PVS」）患者を看護し続けてきた看護師は、どのように患者との関わりにおける確かさを発達させてきたのかを明らかにする。\n　方法：研究デザインは質的記述的研究である。対象は PVS 患者専門病院での看護経験が６か月以上ある看護師とし、参加観察法と半構造化面接を行った。その後、内容分析を行った。\n　結果：PVS 患者を看護し続けてきた看護師が患者との関わりにおける確かさを感じるまでのプロセスには、１．『患者には接近できるが、患者の反応を読み取れず自信がない時期』、２．『ケアの積み重ねにより個別的な反応を感じられ意図的な関わりができるようになる時期』、３．『患者の反応に対する理解を客観的に説明できるようになり、創意工夫して自信を持って関われる時期』があった。\n　考察：PVS 患者との関わりが深まりを持てたのは、研究対象施設における患者の環境が人間の尊厳と人格を尊重した環境であったこと、診断名に囚われることなく、患者を一人の人間として観察していたことにあった。そして、看護師側からの一方通行であったケアが、患者からの応答によって共にケアを創りあげていく存在へと移行したことで、関わりの段階が移行したと示唆された。",
